I met Sam and Steve about 3 years ago – Their little girl Ruby was only a tiny little dot and their venue, The West Mill in Derbyshire was not even built yet. When I heard their story and ideas for their wedding day I was so excited to be booked for their wedding day – it was AMAZING!
The theme was an Industrial Glamour Wedding – The venue, The west mill in is based in Darley Abbey, Derbyshire. This building dates back to the 1800’s and had a large role in the industrial revolution. Stacked with history that really creates a beautiful atmospheric venue.
I started off my day looking around the venue and if my face could have an emoji it would have been that love heart eye one! I met with my second shooter Beth (shout out for a great job on the day!) and we cooed over the building and all of the gorgeous hard work Sam and Steve had put into their wedding day.
Sam soon arrived and it was on! Time to get ready – None of the bridesmaids had seen the dress or bouquet so it made for amazing reaction shots when they finally got to see her as a Bride! Needless to say – there were tears!
Steve arrived with his groomsmen and headed over to the pub (standard!) and got into position to get MARRIED – he looked dapper in his tux and bow tie.
It was time, in the cotton quarter the music started and in walked Sam’s bridesmaids in the most gorgeous sequin bridesmaids dresses, and little Ruby escorted by her grandpa with her little sign & wand!
Sam came down the aisle wearing a gorgeous sweetheart neckline mermaid style dress with a decorative beaded back, she looked stunning with her glamorous head-dress and vintage style makeup – truly a stunner! The ceremony was just filled with giggles, nerves do a funny things – it was such a wonderful ceremony and seeing Sams face light up when she saw Steve was a true honour.
After the Ceremony it was confetti time – it was a tad windy so we blasted through group photos and took some couple shots and it was on to the wedding breakfast & speeches. I love hearing the speeches – you find out so much more about including hilarious stories and Sam and Steves was no exception!
I loved all of the details in the wedding breakfast – the table plan was Gin themed (close to my heart!) and all of the tables had a bottle of Gin in the centre – which must mean Sam & Steve were drunk ALOT!
Onto the spinning room – the dessert table was a sight to behold – so much cake! There were 3 modern styled cakes with copper accents, Coloured chocolate lollypops, macarons, doughnuts – anything you would want to eat was there!
The first dance was Elton John – Can you feel the love tonight – it was so heartwarming, little Ruby came and joined in on the dance floor – When we had our pre wedding shoot I have never seen the same expression on their face than when they see their little girl.
BIG LOVE TO MR & MRS DYER! – Enjoy the previews!
